Kestrals (Y6 Class) - Miss Turner
Miss Turner teaches the Year 6 class. We are a class of fun loving children who are enthusiastic about learning. We really enjoy P.E and take as many opportunities to get sporty as we can.
This term our topic is:
In Art, we are learning about how art has evolved, from Ancient times to present day, and looking at examples of art from each period in history.
In Design Technology, we are looking at how the design of the vacuum cleaner has changed over time and we will be researching James Dyson, who was born locally in Cromer. The children will be given the opportunity to evaluate the different types of vacuum cleaner available today, and to design their own.
Continuing with the theme of Cromer, we are finding out about the changing history of the town including its Pier, land-use and how the coastline of Norfolk has changed through erosion.
We are also learning about how our planet is different from the time of Pangea over 200 million years ago and the evidence for this today with the discovery of fossils. We are thinking about evolution, and how animals have adapted to suit their changing environments.
In our reflective area in the classroom, we are thinking about how our natural world has changed and how we have influenced this.
Our maths area gives us exciting opportunities to practice what we have learned in class with reasoning and problem-solving challenges; and maths investigations.
